Apple users have been complaining about the battery life of their gadgets from a long time. Though some improvements have been made in this regard through the years, but the results were not satisfactory. Apple users are still not happy with the shelf life of the battery which powers Apple gadgets. This time Apple has provided users with some directions, whereby the battery life of the gadget can be enhanced.
New technology is integrated in the next generation phone every year. Therefore, such gadgets will be requiring more power to support the features. At the same time gadgets are also becoming sleek and stylish, which means it can integrate thinner battery (which is not so powerful). As a result, smartphone cannot even survive the while day after getting charged completely. Consumers prefer stylish and sleek phones with advanced features. Thus it is becoming necessary to find a way out of this dilemma without making the phone thicker.
Apple is advising users to switch to low power mode whereby the battery life of the gadget can be easily increased by some hours. To switch to low power mode in iOS 9 users need to click on settings and find out the option ‘Power Settings’. Click on this menu and thereafter users can either opt for triggering low power mode when 20% battery remains or opt for low power mode for all time.
Once the low power mode is switched on, certain functions of the phone are automatically disabled like auto download, push email and the phone will also become a bit slow as the clock speed of the processor is also reduced. At the cost of all these, the gadgets battery life will increase. Power saving option was already present in Android platform, iOS platform has integrated this feature this year. Experts are of the opinion that low power mode is going to increase the battery life of the gadget by about three hours.
While testing these new features, experts found that when the low power mode is switched on, then the performance of the gadget is reduced by 40%. This feature was introduced in first beta version of iOS 9. But developers who have been constantly keeping a check on the performance meter of iOS 9 were of the opinion that this feature became far more effective in the second beta version of iOS 9. In the second beta version of iOS 9, users are presented with a menu where the power consumption level of different apps is displayed. Therefore, users will have the option to close the apps which have high power consumption level.
Power consumption limit is one of the main issue that Apple developers have addressed in the latest iOS platform. Along with Siri and Apple maps were improved and Newsstand will be introduced in place of News app.
